This was the first full hike I tried to document, and I began at home. A friend and I went out above Sliven on a route I had not explored before, with the camera coming along for the whole day.
We walked about thirty-two kilometres and climbed three peaks: Golyama Chatalka at 1,061 metres, Kutelka at 1,084 and Bulgarka at 1,180. Some stretches were on trails and others took us off them. It was cold, somewhere between two and ten degrees, and the views were beautiful.

Filming was new territory too. I was still learning how to talk to a camera while having the experience I wanted to record. The footage was uneven, and switching cameras sometimes left cuts in the audio.
I could see plenty to improve, but I wanted to start anyway. This was a real day with a friend in the mountains above my hometown, and I wanted a way to keep it.
Looking back at the first entry, that is what I like about it. The project began before I knew exactly how to do it. I went for a walk, took the camera and brought home the beginning.
