Breda and Mastbos, Netherlands

Taking it slowly in Mastbos

A snowy walk from Breda into Mastbos, with a recovering leg, plenty of animals and a bus home when I had walked enough.

Snow was falling when we went for a walk from Breda into Mastbos. The temperatures were mild, the pace was slow, and I was happy to spend some time outside without asking too much of my legs.

We covered about twelve kilometres in roughly three hours, with filming and plenty of pauses included. My leg was still recovering from the busy stretch of outings in Bulgaria, so this was a day to listen to it.

There was plenty of company in the forest and along the way: horses, ponies, geese, ducks, rabbits, dogs and more birds than I could count. We also saw an animal I could not confidently call an alpaca or a llama. I am leaving that one open.

On the way back, we took the bus. By then, my leg had made its opinion clear, and I was glad to give it an easier journey home.

I missed the mountains, but I liked this quiet little outing for what it was. Snow, animals, a slow walk and enough room in the day to recover.

Thanks for spending a little time here.
