This one began in the rain, without much of a plan. Dimitar Terziev and I rode around twenty kilometres on the first day, then stayed the night in my village.
The next day added another forty kilometres. Somewhere along the way, we decided to visit the church near Tvarditsa that is known for being submerged. It was not underwater when we arrived.

We rode through small villages, open fields and quiet roads. Snow from the day before lay lightly on the mountain in the distance, with mist hanging low beneath it. The whole place felt a little eerie, but in a way I liked.

The church stood on its own under the grey sky. A white and orange cat welcomed us, which is one of my favourite small details from the visit.
Around sixty kilometres over two days, with weather, a village stop and a decision made along the way. I am glad I shared it with Dimitar. There was no big goal to tick off, just a trip that became a memory I want to keep.
